SACRAMENTO, California (KCRA) — Sacramento State is receiving $750,000 from Wilton Rancheria to support its Wileety Native American College and programs focused on tribal culture and leadership.

Of the donation, $200,000 will establish a scholarship fund for Indigenous students, while the remaining funds will bolster student programs and operations.

“What we’ve done is we’ve set out to try to be very intentional to create a home for students here that would serve not just as a space for people but as a symbol of what’s possible,” said Sacramento State president Dr. Luke Wood.

The college offers students a cohort-based experience where they learn about Native culture while earning their degrees.
