EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — A University of Texas at El Paso alumni started a candy business from his home. Now, Antonio Esparza said his work paid off as the business upgraded to a warehouse in East El Paso.

Esparza established Sabores de Mexico three years ago, and it all started with TikTok. He sold sweets out of his house after losing his job.

His marketing degree from UTEP helped him start his journey as an entrepreneur.

Esparza steadily grew from there. He told ABC-7 it’s been exciting knowing he can give people a little bit of their childhood with traditional Mexican candy — and even with his own creations.

The business has stayed in the family, Esparza saying he works with his sisters, his parents, and his aunt all pitching in to help filling box after box of order he says go all over the country now.

Esperza said he’s continued seeing growth at Sabores de Mexico, just as he’s outgrown his house for his warehouse.
