Officer shot at, suspect arrested after chase from Montgomery to Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A suspect is in custody after allegedly shooting at an officer in Montgomery County and leading law enforcement on a chase that ended in Boone County Saturday morning.
According to Major Curtis Hall with the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted in the pursuit, no one was hurt. He wrote in an email that he did not know what led to initial traffic stop. He did not respond to additional questions about what agency the “officer” belonged to.
ABC 17 News has reached out to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
A heavy police presence was seen in east Columbia around 9:45 a.m. near the East Saint Charles Road/North Lake of the Woods Road roundabout.
An ABC 17 News reporter saw about a dozen law enforcement vehicles from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. A few K-9 units were also on scene.

A Boone Health ambulance arrived around 9:50 a.m., and a man was seen being put on a stretcher.
