WAUKEE, Iowa (KCCI) — Character is what you do when no one is watching and, on Beggars’ Night 2023, two central Iowa boys proved they each have a heart of gold.
It was a typical night of trick-or-treating for a group of sixth-graders in Waukee when two of the boys, Avi Curtis and Liam Ireland, noticed someone had taken all of the candy from one house’s bowl and ran.
They refilled the bowl with their own candy and even stuck around to give some out to costumed kids who stopped by.
The boys didn’t know it, but the home’s video doorbell captured everything on video.
