Warming hearts – one coat at a time: Wall of Warmth returning to 12 Idaho cities

SOUTHEAST IDAHO (KIFI) – With winter’s chill nipping around the corner, the Wall of Warmth is coming back to southeast Idaho, covering more cities than ever.

Now in its 10th year, the drive aims to gather thousands of coats for those who need another layer to stay warm.

“The Wall of Warmth is a project that we started in 2017 with about 600 coats,” said founder Valorie Blanchard. “As we expanded, we have just grown and grown and grown. Over the years, we’ve got up to 9,000 coats. And now, [this year] we are going to be doing 13 walls. For the first time, it’s going outside of the state of Idaho into Montana.”

Seventy-five employees from Brad Hall Companies gathered to sort coats Thursday in Idaho Falls.

From now until November 19th, you can drop off new or gently used coats, snow pants, hats, gloves and scarves at 82 drop-off locations throughout the region.

“Now’s the time. Go through your closet. We’ll take any warm clothing item – such as coats, hats, gloves, boots that have been gently used, and we’ll put them to good use,” said Hall Foundation Director Sunny Harker. “Every item donated goes to help people in our community.”

The coats will be set up at Walls of Warmth in 12 different cities for two weeks from November 9 through 21st at:
