Woman charged with murder after Pulaski County chase ends in deadly crash
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Pulaski County woman was charged with murder this week for a police chase and deadly crash in August.
Prosecutors charged Gracie L. Hutchinson on Tuesday with second-degree murder, aggravated fleeing a traffic stop and unlawful use of a weapon. She was arraigned Wednesday.
Hutchinson was the driver of a truck and led police on a chase after shooting from the truck on Texas Road near St. Robert in the early morning hours of Aug. 30, according to a probable cause statement.
The truck slammed into a tree at about 65 mph, the statement says, throwing Hutchinson and a passenger through the windshield. The male passenger, is identified by the initials R.L. in court documents, was pronounced dead a few days later at University Hospital.
Hutchinson was arraigned Wednesday, and her next hearing is set for November. Judge Kevin Hillman filed for recusal from her case but did not cite a reason.
Hutchinson’s bond was set at $500,000.
