ICCU Donates $2500 for Diaper Bank at Southeastern Idaho Public Health
POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) – Gas prices aren’t the only costs weighing on families in Idaho– some are forced to choose between a fresh pack of diapers and groceries for the week. The Diaper Bank at Southeastern Idaho Public Health aims to alleviate that pressure and provide families with diapers. Thanks to a generous donation from Idaho Central Credit Union, hundreds more regional families have access to all sizes of diapers.
Dana Solomon founded the Diaper Bank in 2017. She said no family should have to choose between housing, food or diapers. The bank is able to step in and fulfill the need for new diapers, which can be expensive.
“Southeastern Idaho Public Health is a government agency, but our diaper bank is separate,” Solomon said. “So we are 100% government funded, without donations from the community we couldn’t serve families in need.”
Solomon reached out to ICCU to request funding to help buy more diapers. The bank aims to provide diapers of all sizes and needs monetary donations to buy them. ICCU donated $2500 which Solomon used to buy enough diapers to fully stock the bank.
“That donation helped us for the next half of a year for southeast families,” she said. “We had families that would call us for diapers and we’d have to turn them away, this means an opportunity for us to say that yes, we’re here to help you.”
People do not need to income qualify to use the Diaper Bank. SIPH understands the need is overwhelming in communities across the region. In 2025 alone, the bank gave out 38,000 diapers. Since their start in 2017, they’ve provided 300,000.
