YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) – Republican candidate Gary Garcia Snyder says lowering costs, expanding mental health services and supporting education are among his priorities as he runs for Arizona House District 23.

If elected, Snyder says he wants to eliminate state taxes for educators and expand access to mental health services through Medicaid.

He said mental health care is important for people of all ages, including veterans and older adults.

Snyder also wants to make housing more affordable and lower energy costs, especially during Yuma’s hot summers. He said utility companies need to be held accountable for high rates.

On data center development, Snyder said projects should have safeguards in place to protect water resources, which he calls essential to the region’s economy.

Snyder is one of four candidates running for two seats representing District 23 in the Arizona House of Representatives.
