MARINA, California (KSBW) — A Marina family is celebrating Halloween with elaborate decorations, including fake gravestones, an organ, and a house-sized pirate ship, continuing a tradition they started ten years ago.

“For the most part, it’s a chance to get out and do something that the community enjoys,” Glenn Woodson, the homeowner, said.

The tradition began with simple, small pumpkin-shaped lights and has grown significantly over the years.

“They do love rum. Unfortunately, I drank the rum last weekend, so I’m going to have to replenish their rum,” Woodson said.

“I think my favorite part about the decorations is probably the pirate ship,” Paisley Temple, a neighbor, said.

The Woodson family said their time and money are well spent, and the display has become a big hit with neighbors.

“I think this is great for the community. It gets everybody outside, and it brings everybody together to celebrate Halloween and, you know, get to enjoy the art and the hard work one of our neighbors created for the community. And it’s great,” Michael Washington, a neighbor, said.

The decorations can be visited daily on Reindollar Avenue from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. until Halloween.
