YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) – The state prosecution called for a status hearing as the trial for a man accused of a Yuma house party shooting enters its fourth day.

Aden Arviso, 23, faces two counts of first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault.

During the fourth day of the trial, more witnesses shared what they remembered from the May 2023 house party shooting.

Some included a firearms expert, neighbors, a retired Yuma police sergeant, and an off-duty California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer.

“He was bleeding. I had to perform CPR and he was on me,” said one neighbor who shared what he remembered from that night.

The off-duty CHP officer, who was also a neighbor, recalled seeing someone with a gun, but couldn’t describe what he looked like.

“He had a T-shirt. But I couldn’t tell if he was White or Hispanic, I couldn’t tell his race just because of the shading. It was dark,” the off-duty CHP officer remembered.

As for the status hearing, it will take place Friday afternoon, and News 11 will let you know what happens at the hearing as soon as we find out
