Southwest Early College Academy selected as one of top ten schools in the world
SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA) – Southwest Early College Academy in San Luis, Arizona is asking the community to help the school reach the top spot in the World’s Best School Prizes in Community Choice Award.
Southwest has been selected as one of the top ten schools in the world in the Overcoming Adversity Category.
The school, part of the Gadsden Elementary School District, is now asking students, families, staff, alumni and community to vote for Southwest in the Community Choice Award.
Voting is open through October 29.
Southwest Principal Luis Reyes was also selected to serve on the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching’s Educator Advisory Board.
“It’s a great accomplishment, but this accomplishment is not only mine, but it’s accomplishment of all my school, my staff, my students…to represent them in these conversations that we’ll be having with great educators from across the nation,” Reyes expressed.
The school is also celebrating a letter from President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, who recognized the school’s selection as one of the top ten schools in the world in the T4 Education World’s Best School Prizes 2026.
