SLPD to host National Car Seat Check event

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA) – As part of a national campaign, a local police department is hosting an event for kids’ safety.
The San Luis Police Department (SLPD) is hosting a car seat check and giveaway Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon.
During that time, officers will conduct safety seat checks and will be giving away free car seats.
Lt. Emmanuel Botello with SLPD said the goal is to save children’s lives.
“It’s only for the safety of the community, it’s for the safety of our kids and it’s also a violation that constitutes a fee, people can be cited for this,” Lt. Botello explained. “But above everything else our number one priority is the safety of our kids.”
SLPD is located on Union Street next to the City Hall.
