CARL Pooch Parade included adoption opportunities and demonstrations
OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) The 26th Pooch Parade brought dog lovers together.
The Canine Adoption and Rescue League known as CARL hosts the event each year.
This year CARL is celebrating its 30th year and organizers decided to move the event from the Ventura Harbor to olołkoy Beach Park, formerly known as Oxnard Beach Park.
In addition to a costume parade and contests, the Santa Paula Police Departments K9 unit put on a demonstration.
K9 Raider also posed for pictures.
The Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center, known as S.P.A.R.C, and other rescue groups brought dogs available for adoption.
“Sadie is the perfect German Shepard,” said Development Director Nicky Gore-Jones, “she deserves to find her own home and this event is wonderful exposure for all the dog rescues, it is something that we really need to do.”
Dog walking services and pet supply and costume companies were also on hand.
Participants received Pooch Parade swag bags to take home.
