Chief Javier Hernandez with SCFD said the tragic event of 9/11 brought us together as a country.
“What happened at September 11th, we came united as a nation and we need to work together and help each other not just only on special days, but every day,” Chief Hernandez expressed.
During the ceremony, SPD Chief Araceli Juarez said those first responders who gave their lives to save others as well the civilians who died will on 9/11 will never be forgotten.
“We want them to know that we are here to support them that we are going to be here for their families. Every day that they come it’s a sacrifice that we appreciate,” Chief Juarez explained.
Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness it’s a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.
