Calexico West Port of Entry closes to honor lives lost on 9/11

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA) – Calexico’s West Port of Entry was closed to both vehicles and pedestrians for more than 20 minutes to honor the lives lost on 9/11.
A private ceremony, led by U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, was held at 5:45 a.m. Friday inside the Port of Entry.
Local law enforcement agencies from across the county, such as the Brawley and El Centro Police Departments, took part in the ceremony.
Traffic resumed at around 6 a.m., with the Port of Entry now remaining open.
