Challis man arrested for felony sexual exploitation of a minor

CHALLIS, Idaho (KIFI) — A Challis man was arrested Friday on multiple felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.

Early Friday, September 11th, deputies from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office executed a Search Warrant in Challis in coordination with Homeland Security, law enforcement confirmed in a post on Facebook. A man was taken into custody following the search.

Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity or specified the exact number of counts filed against him, citing an active investigation. However, under Idaho law, each count of felony sexual exploitation of a minor carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in state prison and a $10,000 fine.
