Exclusive Interview: Palm Springs City Manager Scott Stiles to retire
PALM SPRINGS, CA (KESQ) – Palm Springs City Manager Scott Stiles has announced his plans to retire, notifying city employees in an email Tuesday morning.
Stiles said his retirement will be effective November 1, 2026, bringing to a close more than 43 years of public service. He joined the City of Palm Springs in March 2023 after previously serving as city manager of Garden Grove.
In his message to staff, Stiles expressed gratitude for his time leading the city and highlighted several accomplishments during his tenure, including the opening of the Navigation Center, balanced city budgets, pension funding efforts, infrastructure improvements and progress on the planned expansion and modernization of the Palm Springs Convention Center.
Stiles also credited city employees for their work responding to major emergencies and advancing projects and services throughout the community.
Stiles said he had informed members of the Palm Springs City Council of his decision shortly before notifying employees. The city is expected to determine its process for selecting his successor.
