IDYLLWILD, Calif. (KESQ) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle today on state Route 243 near North Circle Drive in Idyllwild, though traffic remained open through the area.

The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 10:22 a.m. Monday.

Further details regarding the pedestrian’s condition were not immediately available.

The vehicle involved was identified as a blue Mazda SUV, according to a CHP traffic incident log.

The collision occurred outside active travel lanes, leaving traffic unaffected.

Cal Fire was notified and dispatched to provide emergency medical assistance.
