PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) – After heading into Labor Day weekend hoping for a boost in customers, local restaurant owners are now taking stock of how the holiday weekend actually played out.

News Channel 3 spoke with several Palm Springs restaurant owners ahead of the weekend about their expectations for one of the final major travel weekends of the summer.

Now, we’re checking back in to see whether the crowds matched those expectations and what business owners say the weekend could signal as the valley heads toward its busier fall tourism season.

Restaurant owners are weighing customer traffic, sales and whether visitors or local residents helped drive business over the holiday weekend.
