Palm Springs Tramway set to open Oct. 5 after annual maintenance
PALM SPRINGS (CNS) – The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is set to open on Monday, Oct. 5, following a month-long closure for annual preventive maintenance work.
The first tram up will be at 10:00 a.m., the last tram up will be at 8:00 p.m. and the last tram down will be at 9:30 p.m. Tramcars depart at least every 30 minutes.
The facility was closed from Sept. 8 through Oct. 4. During the 2026 closure, several projects were successfully completed, including rebuilding the carriage on cabin two, repainting cabin interiors, and conducting annual state-permit testing and service to the controls system.
“We appreciate our guests’ patience and understanding as our Tramway Systems and Facilities Departments worked to complete all necessary projects,” said General Manager Nancy Nichols. “We look forward to welcoming new and returning visitors back to the Tramway and eagerly anticipate the upcoming holiday and event season.”
