One dead after semi-truck crash on Highway 1 in Lompoc

LOMPOC, Calif. (KEYT) – One person died after their car crashed into a semi-truck on Highway 1 near Lompoc just after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Paramedics pronounced the solo driver in the passenger vehicle dead at the scene and the semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries from the crash at Jalama Road, according to the SBCFD.
Highway 1 is closed in both directions as of 3:30 and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes, according to the SBCFD.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
