Palm Springs officials gather to discuss groundwork for citywide evacuation plan

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) — The key to being ready when a disaster strikes is preparation, Fire Chief Paul Alvarado tells News Channel 3.
While the city’s website has resources for residents if something were to happen, various city officials gathered today to discuss the foundation for the city’s first official emergency evacuation plan.
Whether it’s torrential rain that leads to flooding or a fire, knowing what could lead to an evacuation — and being prepared in case it happens — is what officials hope to help residents understand with this new plan.
