Structure fire burning in Desert Hot Springs

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) – Firefighters were called out to a structure fire burning in Desert Hot Springs on Sunday morning.

According to CalFire, crews were called to the area of Bubbling Wells Road and 18th Avenue, just before 7 a.m.. Upon arrival, fire crews reported seeing at least two structures involved.

Officials told News Channel 3 the flames have burned two to three acres as of 8 a.m. on Sunday. Firefighters will be on scene for about three to four hours to work on containing the blaze.

Southern California Edison also reported a power outage in the same area of the fire. More than 1,400 customers were left in the dark.

Crews are on scene working to restore the power, shooting to fully restore the area by 9 a.m..
