Former Randolph County Sheriff arrested, accused of stealing
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Former Randolph County Sheriff Aaron Wilson was arrested Thursday evening on suspicion of stealing, according to the county’s current sheriff.
Wilson was arrested on suspicion of stealing $750, according to a text message from Sheriff Andy Boggs. Wilson then posted a $5,000 cash bond and was released. A mugshot was not available on Thursday night.
The warrant for Wilson’s arrest was out of Randolph County. Boggs confirmed his office was not the arresting office.
Charges have not appeared on Casenet. A court date is pending, Boggs wrote.
Previous reporting from 2025 shows State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick called for Wilson to be prosecuted for the alleged misappropriation and misuse of funds. More than $224,000 were improperly spent from February 2023 to October 2024, according to a Sepetember 2025 report released by the auditor’s office.
ABC 17 News has reached out to the Moberly Police Department and Randolph County prosecutor’s office.
Boggs stated more information would be released on Friday.
