Exit ramps to close and I-70 lanes narrowing near Providence Road bridge
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Crews are set to close one lane in each direction of Interstate 70 and the exit ramps for the Providence Road Bridge starting Monday night.
Starting Monday at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. MoDoT crews will be placing girders for the Providence Road Bridge, and due to this work, I-70 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction. This work is expected to continue into Wednesday morning.
Both eastbound ramps and the westbound on-ramp will be closed for several months. The westbound off-ramp is already closed.
The closest alternate route drivers can take is Rangeline St. to access and exit I-70.
The Providence Road Bridge is one of seven bridges being demolished and renovated along I-70 across Missouri this year. The bridge project is part of the Improve I-70 project from Rocheport to Columbia. MoDOT expects the larger project to be completed by late 2029.
