COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) – The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) will debut it’s new exhibit, “Freedom to Thrive: The American Experiment in Colorado Springs” during its Colorado 150 celebration on Saturday, August 1.

August 1 is Colorado’s 150th birthday.

The exhibit is part of CSPM’s no-cost celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live music, including the United States Air Force Academy “Wild Blue” band, food trucks, family activities, and birthday cake. The Pikes Peak Library District will have its photobooth that puts you in different historical scenes, and Wishing Star Farms will have a petting zoo.

The new exhibit highlights “people and stories to examine opportunities and obstacles to freedom in our community — while challenging us all to find common ground for the common good in 2026.”
