Woman injured after accidental firearm discharge at Walmart

CHELSEA, Alabama (WVTM) — Deputies responded to a Walmart store in Chelsea after a gun fired inside the store Monday evening.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at the Walmart on U.S. 280 just before 7:30 p.m.
Deputies learned a woman inside the store accidentally discharged her personal firearm, striking herself.
The woman suffered what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to authorities.
Normal operations at the store returned to normal by 9 p.m.
