LEE COUNTY, Florida (WBBH) — A house fire broke out at a home on North Captiva early Friday morning after a likely propane tank explosion on the property.
According to the Upper Captiva Fire & Rescue District, crews responded to a house fire on Goldfinch Drive around 2:38 a.m. The video above shows the blaze caught on camera by the home’s security system.
UCFD said crews were able to save the house and extinguish the fire.
According to the UCFD, everyone was able to get out of the house safely, and there were no reported injuries. The occupants of the home were renters.
The UCFD said an explosion was heard before the fire started, which was likely caused by a propane tank outside.
A gazebo tiki hut near the home caught fire, which spread to the side of the house and into a stairwell, according to the UCFD.
Crews are still on the scene as the fire remains under investigation.
