Arrest made in connection to shooting on Arizona Avenue

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – A man was arrested who was connected to a shooting in the area of Arizona Avenue, according to Yuma Police Department (YPD).

A 33-year-old man was arrested on May 14 and booked into Yuma County Detention Center on a bond of more than $1 million.

He will be in court on Friday, May 16, facing four felonies, including attempted first degree murder.

At about 1:50 a.m. on May 9, officers were called about a man with a gunshot wound in the area of Arizona Avenue near W. 32nd Street.

YPD says officers found a 32-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was first taken to Onvida Health then later flown to a Phoenix hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
