From paving to plowing, Bend outlines road readiness for upcoming winter season

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Crews with the City of Bend have finished a busy summer of street preservation, improving about 67 lane miles across the city.

Officials say the work focused on using cost-effective methods to extend the life of roads and keep up with the city’s growing maintenance needs.

With the summer work wrapped up, the city is turning its focus to winter. Crews are preparing equipment and plowing routes, reminding drivers what to expect when storms hit and how residents can help keep roads safe during snow season.
