QUESTION OF THE DAY: Did the election turn out the way you expected?
Matthew Sanders
The midterm election on Tuesday was a clear, resounding victory for Democrats and liberal policies across the country, and that was true in Missouri as well.
Voters rejected Amendment 3, which would have banned abortion; approved Amendment 6, which limited legislators’ power to undo laws made through a popular vote; and took the veto-proof General Assembly supermajority away from Republicans.
Locally, voters in Boone County roundly rejected a sales tax to pay for a new jail.
And nationally, the Democrats took solid control of both houses of Congress.
Were you expecting these results? Let us know by voting in the poll.
