First, I want to acknowledge the challengers in the race for District 1 Representative and their supporters. They were professional, worked hard and presented their views and plans to solve El Paso’s many serious problems. I respect and admire Matthew Kozik’s and Daniela Garcia’s courage to take on the El Paso political machine and wish them well. We all opposed the city council’s policy of raising El Paso’s already crushing property taxes at every opportunity, while ignoring the conditions of our streets, and the chronic flooding of our neighborhoods . The voters have spoken, and I will now focus on winning the race for District 1 Representative in the upcoming runoff.
ABC-7 has reached out to all city council runoff candidates for interviews.
