MILWAUKEE (WISN) — After watching their Milwaukee Brewers win the World Series, thousands of fans are gearing up to celebrate the Brew Crew during a Championship Parade on Friday.

All across the parade route, fans set out chairs and blankets hoping to claim the best seat on Thursday. But many fans near Mason and Jackson streets say they chose their spots for a reason.

“I kind of came down this way, and then I saw the Ueck thing, and I knew this is where we needed to be,” Christal Pelzek said. “Got Ueck over my shoulder; he’s watching everybody, all the players come in. I’m sure as soon as they come by and then I turn around and see Uecker, I’m going to be, like, waterfalls.”

Along this stretch of the parade route, the larger-than-life mural of the late Bob Uecker overlooks the road and sidewalk that will be filled with fans.

“He’s Mr. Baseball for a reason,” Pelzek said. “He exuberates all the positivity of everything, the camaraderie, like just everything for the players, for the fans. And again, even though he’s not here physically with us, in spirit, he is always here.”

Some fans say they know Uecker still had a hand in this season’s success.

“Ueck is the heart and soul of the Brewers team, and maybe, because he passed early in January [2025], he was up there helping the Brewers,” said Dennis Lodise, who got a hotel to get a front-row seat for the Championship Parade. “You know, so many close games; maybe that was just Ueck, his hand coming down and helping the Brewers.”
