El Paso man dies in crash east of Van Horn

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — A 21-year-old man from El Paso died in a crash east of Van Horn, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS said Aaron Stephen Pepe died in a crash that happened Saturday on I-10 west at Mile Marker 181, which is 41 miles east of Van Horn.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Pepe failed to control his speed and steering, DPS said. He crashed into two other vehicles, which were at a standstill due to construction. Pepe died at the scene.
Texas DPS said the two vehicles were a Freightliner and a trailer.
