Cristo Fernández reads his bilingual book to San Elizario children
SAN ELIZARIO, Texas (KVIA) — ‘Ted Lasso’ star and El Paso Locomotive FC player Cristo Fernández will read his bilingual picture book to children in San Elizario Tuesday evening.
Fernández, known for his role as Dani Rojas in the show, published a book highlighting his personal journey. “Fútbol is Life!/¡Fútbol es vida!” celebrates perseverance, resilience and following your dreams.
He’ll visit the Boys & Girls Clubs of El Paso’s Club Borrego at Borrego Elementary School.
“We’re excited to have Cristo visit our Club kids to share his inspiration journey that led to a successful career as an actor and professional soccer player,” CEO Tony Tomasheski said. “His personal story teaches our kids to believe in their dreams and that anything is possible with perseverance and support.”
In an interview on “Live with Kelly and Mark” in August, Fernández said his book isn’t just for kids.
“This is a children’s book, but I also want people to know that I think it’s for grownups, because children are the ones that you don’t have to tell them to dream big,” Fernández said.
Fernández signed with the El Paso Locomotive FC in May after a two-month trial with the team.
