COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A 46-year-old Rocky Mount man was killed Friday after being hit by a car.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man was lying in the northbound lane of State Route Y just North of Brendel Boulevard after being thrown from a motorcycle in a previous crash.
A separate MSHP crash report says he was driving a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 northbound and hit a deer. He had suffered serious injuries from that crash and was left laying in the northbound lanes of Route Y.
At around 11:30 p.m., an unknown car then hit the man and drove away from the scene. The man was pronounced dead at around 11:50 p.m. by the Morgan County coroner. This is Troop F’s fifth fatal crash for October and the 54th death for 2026.
