School bus catches fire on northbound I-435 near 210 Highway

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KMBC) — First responders were dispatched to a frightening scene on Interstate 435 early Tuesday morning.
A small school bus caught fire in the northbound lanes of I-435 near Missouri 210 Highway just after 8 a.m.
Video from the scene shows the front end of that bus fully engulfed in flames with traffic backing up behind the scene.
Officials with the Kansas City Fire Department said no students were on board the bus at the time of the incident.
Authorities said that bus was involved in a wreck with a semi-truck before catching fire Tuesday morning. Two adults on board that bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officials have not identified the school district associated with that bus.
Traffic is expected to be impacted on northbound I-435 until the bus can be removed from the scene.
