YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) – Touch of Class The Yuma Cat House is earning recognition across Arizona for its work in feline grooming and education.

Owner Melissa Hall, who has more than 30 years of experience grooming cats, was honored at the Arizona Professional Groomers Guild’s Best of the West Awards.

Hall has held her Feline Master Groomer certification for more than a decade.

“We had over 800 people vote for us,” Hall said.

She received a Lifetime Achievement Award and an Industry Leadership Award, which she said recognizes her work supporting groomer education.

Hall is also a certifier for the National Cat Groomers Institute and trains students who travel from around the world to learn feline grooming.

She said she has welcomed students from Germany and Malaysia, as well as students from across the United States. One student is expected to visit from the United Kingdom next year.

Hall has trained 58 students who have gone on to earn grooming licenses. She also teaches people who want to learn from her experience, even if they are not pursuing a license.
