A deputy conducting a forensic interview spoke to a child victim.

Documents said the abuse took place between Jan. 2, 2016 and Dec. 31, 2024.

Otero County deputies began their investigation after a man said a teenager reported they suffered physical abuse, documents said. The victim told authorities they had nightmares from the age of five after the alleged sexual abuse.

During the forensic interview, the child said the abuse started at the age of four or five and lasted through eighth grade. The teen told authorities the abuse took place three or four times a month, documents said.

In one instance, the abuse included a younger child the teen knew, documents said.

Court documents said the teen revealed that Landy would receive $400-$500 after each encounter. Landy also allegedly gave $50-$100 to the teen.

Deputies also interviewed the younger victim.

The victim said the abuse started when the children were between 6 and 8 years old. Landy allegedly took them to a house once a month, and they would be offered dolls or money in exchange for allowing the abuse.

Investigators wrote the abuse happened on 10 different occasions.

The younger victim told authorities that Landy walked in on the abuse at least once and stopped it, but continued to take them to the house, documents said.
