MU Health Care held a vaccination event at the Columbia Farmers Market on Saturday morning, located at 1769 W Ash St. The event started at 8 a.m. and ran through noon.

In a press release, MU Health said that flu shots will be offered to people six months and older, and COVID vaccines can be administered to people 12 years or older. People are asked to bring an insurance card.

People are also reminded to wear loose-fitting clothing so the shot can be administered properly. The release says young children should also dress appropriately, as they might receive the vaccine in their thigh.

MU Health Care announced it would be doing 24 vaccination events across Mid-Missouri throughout September and October, including some drive-through events. The next drive-through vaccination is being offered Oct. 17 at the South Providence Medical Building, located at 551 Veterans United Drive.

All vaccination events can be found on MU Health Care’s website.
