Motorcyclist injured, arrested on suspicion of DUI after Palm Springs crash

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a collision with a pickup truck in Palm Springs on Saturday morning, according to Palm Springs Police. .

Officers with the Palm Springs Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 9:44 a.m. on East Ramon Road, east of South Sunrise Way.

Upon arrival, police found the injured motorcyclist lying on the roadway with an arm laceration and a suspected leg fracture. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for treatment.

Westbound lanes of East Ramon Road near Farrell Drive were temporarily closed while officers cleared the roadway and investigated the crash.

Following the incident, the Palm Springs Police Department reminded all motorists to drive responsibly, stay attentive and never operate a vehicle while impaired.
