OKLAHOMA CITY (KOCO) — Jane Hresko, the former treasurer of the Triathlon Club of OKC, has been charged with embezzlement and obtaining property by trick, deception, or false representation, according to court filings.

The allegations span from May 2019 to May 2023 and involve more than $358,000, which court documents say was spent at an Oklahoma City-area casino.

The Triathlon Club of OKC confirmed Hresko’s role as the former treasurer and issued a statement saying, in part, “TRI-OKC identified financial irregularities and reported the matter to the Oklahoma City Police Department. Since identifying the financial irregularities, TRI-OKC has strengthened its financial controls and oversight. Our focus remains on protecting the organization and continuing to serve our members and Oklahoma’s multisport community.”

Court records state Hresko was “the sole individual with day-to-day control over the Triathlon Club’s financial records.” The club switched to a new bank and was notified of potential fraud on the account, prompting an audit of its records.

An investigator wrote in the probable cause affidavit that Hresko did provide reasoning for the spent funds and had hired an attorney.

The affidavit also noted, “Numerous checks were written to herself with no valid receipts or purchases to show for the payments.”

Hresko’s bond was set at $15,000, but it is unclear when she will appear in court.
