Kendall Forbes helps Coachella Valley seniors find a place to call home
RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) – Finding the right assisted living community can be overwhelming for families. Kendall Forbes has made it his mission to make that process a little easier.
Forbes, a senior living advisor with Assisted Living Locators, helps families across the Coachella Valley find assisted living options that fit their needs — at no cost to the families he serves.
But his relationship with families doesn’t end after a move.
At Atria Rancho Mirage, resident Scott Egner says Forbes helped him find the right community and supported him throughout the process.
“He held my hand. He found me places to look at,” Egner said. “I just fell in love with him.”
Nathan Boese, executive director at Atria Rancho Mirage, says Forbes regularly checks in on residents he has helped.
“He’ll often come in and just visit them,” Boese said. “He’ll sit down and have lunch with them or a meal with them, and he’ll just see how everything’s going.”
Sometimes those visits include a game of blackjack, a meal or simply stopping by to say hello.
Forbes says those relationships are what make the work so rewarding.
“It’s just really gratifying to know that you can change somebody’s life,” Forbes said.
Forbes came from a corporate career and wanted to find a way to give back. Now, he spends his days helping families navigate major life transitions — and continuing to show up for the people he meets along the way.
“It really is super gratifying and something that I’ve never felt doing anything else before,” Forbes said.
