Good Vibes Only: Author returns to hometown to inspire students
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)— Native El Pasoan Lisa Caprelli returned to her hometown to inspire the next generation of readers. Caprelli is an author who has published 24 books.
In September, she spoke to students at Horizon Heights Elementary School. The heart of her message was to motivate students to continue using their imagination.
“It’s important that they use their own thinking, their own, because that’s something that a computer cannot do. And your own original ideas,” she said.
Caprelli reminded students about the importance of connecting with each other in today’s tech-driven world.
“That’s something technology can’t do is replace human connection,” she said.
Caprelli grew up in El Paso, and while she no longer calls the Sun City home, she enjoys visiting with local students and seeing them interact with her books and characters!
“It doesn’t feel like work; everyday I get to do this. It’s like playing,” Caprelli said.
