El Paso Fire rescue team saves dog from floodwaters in Central Texas
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — An El Paso fire crew rescued a dog from floodwaters in Central Texas Thursday.
The El Paso Fire Department said its Water Rescue Team went to Rock Springs, Texas, as part of Texas Task Force 1. The team has been helping communities impacted by heavy rain and flooding.
In Rock Springs, floodwater stranded a driver while he tried to drive himself and his dog to safety. EPFD posted a video of the rescue, which showed the driver’s stuck in rising water.

EPFD said the local fire department rescued the driver while the El Paso Water Rescue Team helped the dog.
“We could not be prouder of these dedicated firefighters and the heart they bring to this work. When people are facing some of their hardest moments, they show up. They step forward. And they do whatever it takes to bring people, and even their four-legged family members, home safely,” EPFD said in a social media post.
