Person dies after medical emergency in vehicle near I-10 and SR-62 near Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Calif. (KESQ) – One person was killed today when a vehicle went down an embankment near Whitewater.
The incident was reported shortly before 2 p.m. Monday near eastbound Interstate 10 and state Route 62, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Emergency crews responded to a reported medical emergency, and an occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
It was not immediately clear whether the person killed was the driver or another occupant.
The CHP’s incident log indicated that a tow truck was requested to retrieve the vehicle from the embankment.
The circumstances surrounding the death were not immediately known.
