Two lost hikers rescued on Big Morongo Canyon Trail

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) – Two hikers were rescued after getting lost while on the Big Morongo Canyon Trail near Desert Hot Springs Monday afternoon.
The incident was first reported at around 3:20 p.m. in the area of N Indian Canyon Drive and Worsley Road.
“The Sheriff’s Aviation Unit also responded to assist and located two hikers on Big Morongo Canyon Trail. The Aviation Unit retrieved the hikers from the trail and transported them to a waiting ambulance,” reads an email from CAL FIRE.
Paramedics evaluated both hikers at the scene, and no injuries were reported.
