SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – Santa Barbara is drawing attention to local waterways as winter weather approaches.
The community’s annual Creek Week activities are showing residents how stormwater moves through neighborhoods toward the ocean.
Today’s waterfront walk focuses on estuaries, runoff and areas that can become vulnerable during heavier rain.
Organizers are also highlighting how trash and pollution can travel downstream during storms.
The goal is to help the community better understand the connection between city streets, creeks and the coastline.
