Planned Parenthood Supporters Buy Books
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) The 52d Mary McCord Planned Parenthood Book Sale wrapped up its 11- day run at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara.
Book lovers flocked to the final day when everything is always half off.
Some readers said they attended the sale on multiple days.
Nonprofits also had a chance to take books for free in the final hour.
The event is named in memory of a longtime volunteer.
Event Co-Chair Amy Zak Urban described her feelings in the now empty book storage area.
“Thrilled, exhausted, thrilled, people have been amazing this community has come out in droves, they are having a great time, we couldn’t ask for more,” said Zak Urban.
It is one of Planned Parenthood’s most successful fundraisers.
Donations are welcome all year at 5726 Thornwood Drive in Goleta.
