Cathedral City Peace Initiative marks International Day of Peace

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. (KESQ) – Today is the International Day of Peace, and the Cathedral City Peace Initiative is bringing the message of peace to the local community.
The initiative is holding an International Day of Peace observance this afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Cathedral City Library.
The event will include a global art exhibition featuring children’s artwork from the United Nations Mine Action Service.
Organizers Bob McKechnie and Karen Riley say peace can start at the local level through everyday actions that bring people together and encourage understanding.
